Gainesville Harley Davidson 18th Annual Chili Cook Off

Saturday, December 14th

4:30 in the morning found tornadoes moving across North Central Florida, high winds and torrential rains. Load up the car with the chili stuff, load the April in the car with the chili stuff and off we went. Early morning finds of grabbing some propane and the rain stopped, thankfully for good. The weather warmed but the winds stayed the rest of the day. Canopies trying to fly all over the place. Since we only had to warm the chili and not cook any we were able to get around an taste the competition. I'll tale you right now, the chili teams came ready today, there wasn't a dud in the house and most were good enough to try and get them disqualified so we would not have to compete against there great chili offerings. Seriously, it was great chili from all the teams. Brett, Amy, JT and Brenda were there to throw there hat in the pot. It was great getting to hangout and talk with them a spell. Great Folks!! In winning 1st place we also get Chili Cats chili featured for a year at a prominent Gainesville restaurant 'Crafty Bastards'! We are so excited about this! After the cook off we headed over to the restaurant to see how it was. Fabulous! The food and atmosphere is right up our ally! Looking forward to having our chili on their menu!
