We had a fabulous time meeting a lot of the club members and of course cooking some chili. It was a very competitive field with some of the best chili cooks in Florida working on that next pot of winning red! We learned a lot of tips and tricks, the little things that when you put them all together help bring that beautiful cup of turn in chili together. 

We placed 1st in showmanship on day one. Dave got 12th place and April got 16th, dismal showing but like we said, tips and tricks were scored!

Day two was a totally different story. We hid in our rental cabin the day before and strategized. April thought we should throw some beans the the competitions chili pots. I was thinking more along the lines of straight up murder. We finally decided to tweak the recipes and low and behold. April took home 1st place and Dave got 2nd!!!!!!!!!! We got 2nd place in showmanship on day two as well. 

Well we had a blast, took home some swag and got to meet some of the finest people around!
